To celebrate the 20th anniversity of FRC, Logo-Motion utilized aspects of the FIRST logo within the game. Robots had to place tubes such as the one in the picture below upon pegs on the alliance walls. The tubes were in the shapes of the triangle, the circle, and the square of the FIRST logo. Extra points were given for creating a full logo on the wall.
Scoring during autonomous:
Tube hung on bottom row: 2 points
Tube hung on middle row: 4 points
Tube hung on top row: 6 points
Scoring during tele-operated period:
On bottom row: 1 point
On middle row: 2 points
On top row: 3 points
Over autonomous "Ubertube": Double points for that tube
Creating the FIRST logo: Double points for entire row
At the end of the game, the robots deployed autonomous minibots that raced to the tops of towers.
Bonus scoring from minibot race:
1st place: 30 points
2nd place: 20 points
3rd place: 15 points
4th place: 10 points
Team 2191 created a robot that utilized pneumatics to pick up and a pulley system to place tubes on pegs of all heights. While the weight of the elevator prevented the robot from reaching the top pegs, it was a successful design. The speed, agility, and accuracy of the design enabled the robot to place full logos at least on the middle pegs. The only disadvantage of the robot was that there was no autonomous or working minibot. Otherwise, it was a successful year.
